Tree of Life – Part 2

Tree of Life – Part 2

Hey everybody time for mixed medium am I’m using water underneath the clay because the two main ingredients of this clay are glue and Cornstarch and so if I put water underneath, I’m pretty sure it’ll stick well I’ve had to add quite a bit of extra mineral oil to this though to make it the texture that I want so when I put the Recipe in the discussion part in the description part then Keep that in mind keep that in mind in order to get this texture I wanted I needed to Add a lot of extra mineral oil the recipe calls her baby oil but baby I was basically scented mineral oil And since I can’t stand the smell of baby oil, I just bought them in a while This is the fall Tree of Life Now I’m going to try and make these trees of life fall winter spring and Summer look similar, but I can’t make them look exactly the same So that’s something to keep in mind when doing that series like this If you want to look similar, but you it’s almost impossible to make them look exactly the same Shoot Waters not going to hurt anything because this is all sealed, but it’s not gonna help either Okay, I’ll let this one Go I’m going to go off-camera and finish the other three and I’ll show them to you in just a moment Their spring And here’s fall my trunk a little fat here, but I’m not going to worry about it This clay dries very fast So don’t manipulate it too much once you get it down Now I’m gonna just leave this alone for about 24 hours and we’ll see how it works Hopefully it doesn’t crack on me. But I think I got it to the right texture where it shouldn’t crack will see in 24 hours This is the first in the series of four for a tree of life, this is winter Where to put some color on the bark of the tree The me is a very fine We use a very fine brush I Have all these colors. I’m not sure I’m going to use them all But we’re gonna have them out in just in case I want I’m gonna start with the lightest color which is cafe au lait So we’re I’m a coke cafe au lait Just a little bit And I’m going to add a little bit of water in there It’s almost the same colors that I have on there but not quite Just little lines we wanted texture on here And I’m going to be filling it up with these other colors as well Bigboy and poot Garin hair visiting Now down here Are the roots so we’re gonna really make these dark. I’m not gonna worry about this color down there So I want those to be darker Okay, as it dries it’s getting darker and I like it better Next I think I’m gonna go with some of this Metallic gold Add a little water Let’s see how this works Next color I’m using is raw Sienna This one is winter you can tell because of the gray sky and the circle right here This is the root area, so I want to get more darkness down here. I want some shadows in the Were the trunk twists This one is spring Until spring because it’s got a circle up here way up in the canopy Tell bees there’s no green in the sky and there’s no circles on the tree This one is spring mmm. No, I’m gonna put more gold down here but not as much as this summer This one is fall Next step is to make some leaves. I’ll show that in the next video
