The Joy of Wood Carving

The Joy of Wood Carving

Once you take up carving you’re never
gonna want to stop Today I’m going to carve a simple
project just for the fun of it. It’s going to be a birch themed wooden spoon I’ve heard a lot of people say they’d
like to start carving but just don’t think they have the talent for it. Well
Bob Ross once said “Talent is a pursuit interest. Anything you’re willing toWell
Bob Ross once said “Talent is a pursuit
practice you can do.” Some of the first things started carving was wooden spoons, cups, and little twig roosters. I had a lot of fun making them and giving them away as gifts. Pearl wasn’t sure what to think of her
reflection. The only way to experience the joy of
carving is to get yourself a good set of carving knives and start whittling. Thanks for watching I’ll see y’all on
the next one!

It's a blessing to watch you Mr. Stinnett, thank you so much for sharing your art, your skills and most of all your love and patience with Pearl… Just loved it when she wormed her way up your lap, and gave the camera a look as if to say: "This is MY place, watcha lookin at?! hehe Shalom from Israel…!

  26. Hi Mike,,, Always enjoy your videos. Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. I was wondering if you might consider doing a short video on tool sharpening. As they say, nothing more dangerous than a dull tool and some knives and chisels can be a challenge to sharpen. It was just a thought after watching your video. Take care and keep those videos coming. Randy

  33. I've just taken up copper foil stained glass, and self teaching myself from YouTube tutorials and enjoying it immensely, from choosing a pattern, choosing the colours of glass, to cutting, foiling and soldering, it's like reading a good book, once you pick it up you just can't put it down, I wish the younger generation would do more then hold a game console in hands that could create so much more. Anyways enjoying your talent and videos, take care my friend.

  34. Thanks for another great video, art piece, happy dog ! lol. Love that Pearl ! BTW/ Exactly what kind of mud do you drink outaa that Pot ? lol

  37. I started carving spoons on dried logs and it was a lot of work on my wrist and mora. I’ve been trying to find a good source for green birch or cherry but so far have not been having luck. I’ve been driving around looking for downed trees cut for the dump. Thanks for the videos. Maybe you could share your thoughts on sourcing?
