  1. Vanessa,
For Blues and Greens I use Jacquard Red Label, as they get a nice salt pattern and are the least expensive of all the steam set silk dyes. Most colors can be diluted 1:2 with water, so one liter makes 3 liters of dye.
For Browns, Reds, and Purples, Pro Colour from New Zealand and Dupont from France get a better salt pattern.

  2. Is there a workshop I can take online that you might recommend? I am struggling to learn how to use the salt effect. I see that you used a combination of alcohol, water and possibly dillutant to mix into the dye. How do I know what ratios to use? I have been looking all over for a tutorial and have failed to find. one Any help would be appreciated. thank you.

  3. Nice video! You earned my subscription right here.. truth be told, I was planning on subscribing when I came over to check out your channel after you had visited mine & subscribed! I will say this.. you have made me homesick for the west coast mountains, all the crafting, hiking, life loving back to simpler ways of my youthful adult years, some 36 years ago!
