(Semi-Realistic) Nose Painting Tutorial

(Semi-Realistic) Nose Painting Tutorial

Hello everybody and welcome back to my
channel. Today is my first ever tutorial, and I will be doing it on noses. So noses
are a pretty difficult thing and I’ve talked to a lot of people who draw and
they say that it’s probably the hardest thing that they’ve learned. So the way
that I’m gonna be teaching it is a three step technique and the first thing that
you’re gonna do (and I’m going to be doing this in blue throughout the video)
is you draw a circle. Next, for the nostrils, ( and I’ll be doing this in red throughout the video) you draw two little oval-like shapes. Finally for the bridge of
the nose, which I’ll be doing yellow, I’m going to draw a rectangle like shape Now, this next nose is a little bit different for the main part of the nose, instead of
it being a circle, it’s a little bit more of a teardrop shape, and the nostrils are a
little bit more oval than circular, and the bridge of the nose is a little more
rectangular than the last one, which was kind of an oval shape. Right now you’re gonna be seeing me draw a variety of different noses using the same methods with these three shapes. Keep in mind that this method can also be used to draw noses at different angles. So, as you can see here I have gotten a very wide variety of different noses just
from using the same three shapes and the same simple technique. For this next part of the video I drew a nose without using a reference by using the three shape
technique. References aren’t necessary for drawing but if you want to draw
realistically or if you’re kind of new to drawing I really recommend using
a reference. Here I quickly drew nine noses just
to show you, yet again, all different shapes and angels that you can achieve
using this “three step” method. If you’re having trouble with this, and you’re not liking
how your nose or they’re looking, just keep practicing and I promise it’s gonna
get a lot easier. And I know it’s a really cliche for me to say, but
practice does make perfect and if you work really hard at improving your
painting skills, you’ll get better at drawing something. Especially if it’s
something difficult like noses or other facial features To finish this video up I, decided to
show a couple portraits that I drew using this nose technique, just so you
can see what it looks like in a final product. Thank you so much for watching my first
ever tutorial video! If you want to see more videos like this please tell me down below in the comments. please like, share with all your artist friends, and consider subscribing. Thanks! See you later 🙂
