Hello, this is Musasino Ok. The frame’s base painting has done by now. Uhm… Think it needs some masking on it The parts need to be masked are As you can see this part in a circle It can be easily washed out with enamel paint but for the cleaner result, I will do some masking on it Some times the paint can be applied on the other sides when using sprays or air brush ….so will do masking a little on this part to ease the washing enamel paints Apply masking tapes roughly cuz the edge of the circle will be cleaned Applying roughly is enough for this case just cover the parts where you don’t want to paint on it. Only the inner circle shape part will be painted at the end I’ll do masking on 4 parts like this. I want to mask this part more carefully because I want it looks better I want these power line pipes are more distinguishable and look better than other side want to make it looks like different part not a single one. It’s hard to do masking with the tape As you can see The mold is too complicated to do that so I think it’d be better use a liquid masking called masksol(e.g. Humbrol Mask sol) This is Vajjejo liquid mask natural resin product It is good to use… stick well on it and can remove easily after use. Gotta squeeze out a little and a little cuz it is harden It looks thin but it dries faster than I think apply it with a brush On the parts where you don’t want to apply paint Paint liquid mask with the brush It just simple… it’s a kind of liquid which can be dried and hardened quickly to cover the parts It will be easily removed after painting other parts detach it like tape after the paint has dried enough. So it’s so convenient to use on the parts like this when masking is needed It is more effective where masking tape can’t not be applied. Do the brushing on it carefully. Should care about the boundary not to over it. It’s getting dried already Will be painted after it has been dried enough You can mix the enamel paint in the cup of air brush if you need a small amount of it. I used enamel paint even I did some masking on it. Because it is easy to be washed away and easy to edit… not like lacquer paint Applying enamel paint thin and moist is better The air pressure for enamel paint should be higher than the lacquer So nozzle and the pressure have to be adjusted well enough. Vajjejo liquid mask has been dried enough Close a bit more the nozzle and decrease the air pressure for curved largely and detailed parts Let’s detached it It’s fun to detach it There is a kind of catharsis in it you can push it away with your finger If the result is good, doing like this may make you feel better rub it slowly with finger Then you can see the result Let’s take a look on it. Oh… it has been done well…. Even the corner side will be easily removed if you roll it out slowly with your finger It’s not completely remove but take a closer look It’s nicely done. This is what I wanted for doing mask on this part. How can I remove the mask at the corner like this? With tooth brush rub it softly Yes it has been removed right away rub it softly for not removing paint also The paint can not be removed easily but it happens sometime so it has been removed completely Masking job is nicely done, I think. For this one, can you guess whether it has been masked or not? it’s too thin to notice but if you rub it slow and soft The dried liquid mask is come out easily It dried like a kind of silicon but it can be taken out easily. like this… It has been done neatly take a look looks cool, right? These parts are also masked with liquid mask. rub it and it will be detached Some parts curved largely and has corners like this use tooth brush on it softly The other parts are waiting to be washed I did masking roughly on it for washing technique. With enamel thinner if you clean up the paint on embossed carving, the paint will remain on the depressed engraving. That’s the technique called ‘washing’ I talked about it a lot Let’s do some washing on it! in this part, there’s some engraved parts and other’s don’t So take out the paint on the embossed carving with cotton tip or panel line remover like this The dark grey color will remain inside of depressed engraving. the others will be washed away The edge part is easy to do it.
