Mead Art Museum receives 170 new pieces from anonymous donor

ARE. DON: THE MEAD ART MUSEUM AT AMHERST COLLEGE IS SHOWCASING A NEW EXHIBIT… THANKS TO NEW WORKS OF ART FROM AN ANNONYMOUS DONOR. THEY’RE CALLING THE NEW EXHIBIT “STARTING SOMETHING NEW: RECENT CONTEMPORARY ART ACQUISITIONS AND GIFTS”. IT FEATURES MORE THAN 170 PIECES OF CONTEMPORARY ART. IT’LL RUN THROUGH JULY OF NEXT YEAR. ONE THING THAT’S REALLY IMPORTANT ABOUT THIS RECENT GIFT AND ABOUT ALL OF OUR ACQUISITIONS AT THE MEAD IS THAT WE TRY TO HAVE OUR ART BE REPRESENTATIVE OF TODAY’S STUDENTS. DON: THIS FALL, MEAD WILL ALSO OPEN AN EXHIBITION MARKING A DECADE OF ACQUISITIONS MADE THROUGH THE TRINKETT CLARK MEMORIAL STUDENT
