Lulu Delacre | Art as the Messenger

it is actually a set of eight portraits that belong to a book of stories that I wrote so the book title is us in progress short stories about young Latinos it just happens that I do believe that we need dialogue and we need civil discourse and I created these portraits because I wanted to give a face to the many young Latinos that live here in the United States of America that sometimes remain faceless and sometimes are misrepresented they all have stories to tell there is a story behind every single one of those portraits and I created the portraits using newspapers articles that I read and gave birth to the characters in my book as well as Pierce paper that represent the growing Latino population in the United States of America and for me it represents how we Latinos bring richness to the American fabric
