So initially the admissions team will ask applicants to upload an online portfolio. It’s really important that we see selected images and how you’re thinking about the images that you choose. They should be a selected body of work that shows what motivates you and your interests and ideally the most recent work. When you’re asked or invited for an interview there’ll be the opportunity to bring a much more comprehensive folder with you. I’m going to talk a little bit about the interview process. We have a very particular approach here at BA Fine Art, we really want to find out as much as we can about you and it’s very important that you come very much as yourself. We don’t intend to surprise you, we want to find out, as I say, as much as we possibly can about you and we want you to have an opportunity to find out about us and how we work. I came from Manchester – that’s where did my foundation. This is the only uni that I came to where I walked around and it was full of people and it was just a lovely atmosphere and on my actual interview we all went in groups and then individually we got to speak about our work and that’s when tutors asked us about ourselves and they showed a real interest and that’s what made me really want to come here and the tutors really helped me to feel comfortable in my interview. Definitely need to bring the work that you can talk about and that you’re comfortable to speak about with tutors they just want to know your genuine interest in the course and in arts and what you’re all about really. The best thing I did was getting to know people and people on my course and now I couldn’t imagine not being at Kingston.
