How to make Paper Flower Cards, Easy paper crafts for girls

hello friends I’m Smitha Katti and
welcome to another smiling colors video I hope you’re ready to get crafty today
because we’re making paper flower cards in this video March is national craft
month and I wanted to create something that uses basic supplies paper scissors
and glue and of course I’m gonna make something flower because it’s almost
spring out here in the northern hemisphere I’ll be making these two
pretty pink floral cards today let’s get started and I’ll show you what you need
the supplies you’ll need for today’s video are very basic we’re gonna be hand
cutting a flower design so you’ll need a good pair of scissors to glue everything
down I’m going to be using two kinds of adhesives I have the tombow mono aqua
glue and I also have the glue pen to glue down paper on paper
I like this aqua glue and that’s what I’m going to be using today I’m using
card stock in a variety of colors I chose some nice pastel a-pink’s a few
different shades of green and also a cream color so I’ve gone ahead and made
a floral sketch here what this is is basically how I want my car to look
finally how big I want my flowers to be how big I want my leaves to be and this
will be a nice starting point for me so I’ve trimmed an 8 and 1/2 by 11 inch
card into half and I will fold each one of these into half to make a note card
okay now that we have our supplies it’s time to get crafting so I’m going to
start off by using the template to show you my idea here I have three colors of
green card stock and I’m going to cut all three of them together using my
scissors I’ve also trimmed out the leaf shapes from the template that I drew
before and now I’m just gonna cut around them carefully you don’t necessarily
need a floral sketch but it’s handy to have one on hand I’m cutting three
layers of card stock at once and what this does is it gives me three different
color leaves all at once this just speeds up the cutting process
and also gives you a lot of color options to choose from
okay my tip for cutting out intricate leaves like this especially when you go
into the tiny tiny size what you want to do is you want to move your left hand
which is holding the paper you want to move that slowly around instead of
trying to get the scissors into the curve move the paper around instead okay
so now I went ahead and cut a bunch of green leaves and at this point I’m going
to start cutting petals for the flowers I’m not going to be using the design
template right now because I am just going to freehand my petal shapes okay
two three and my petal shapes I’m cutting again three colors of card stock
I have three pink shake card stocks very close in color and what I’ve done is I’m
started by cutting out these kidney bean kind of shapes these will form my outer
petals once I had a bunch of those petals ready I went ahead and started
cutting out more fancy shaped petals these are like teeth or they have a semi
heart shape on it then with all the leftover paper what I did was I used a
paper puncher and I just punched out a bunch of quotes I was completely
surprised that when I emptied my puncher to find all these blue bits of paper in
there so I’m going to keep all of them as well
now it’s time to start gluing everything down so we have all of our petals all of
our leaves and we have those little tiny circles everything is glued onto the
card to make this pretty design I’m using the tombow mono a quality glue I’m
applying a little bit of glue onto the back of each petal laying it down onto
the paper and pressing down lightly now I’m not gonna bore you by showing you
how it glued on all of this I’m just gonna speed it up quickly here and you
can see that I glued on each and every petal each and every leaf and I
carefully arranged it until I had a design on the card front that looks
to me these are really tiny bits of paper and they don’t need a lot of glue
and this glue pen gives just the right amount of glue for it and here’s a look
at the cards one so they all dried just cut some petals and leaves glue them
onto paper but I love the way this looks I love the colors here and the flowers
of course make me smile so I hope you enjoyed today’s crafty video friends
