  20. hum…ok, but what if i really want to get into an art school so i have to get good grades and get better at painting, but i can't manage to do both ?

  21. I always carry a small sketch book with me when I'm out, so if I am waiting for an appointment, or waiting for food, I can pull it out and I just sketch something that's near me "this cute lil doughnut needs to be drawn".

  22. I really needed the reminder today <3 I'm a professional freelance illustrator, and my hobby is trying to build up my clipart shop and make it take off. It's sometimes not easy because my hobby looks very much like my work haha… After drawing all day, it's hard to make myself draw for my shop. Especially since for the last couple months I've been really burnt out, so I'm having a hard enough time just doing my regular work, let alone doing more. I feel like I'm busy ALL the time, but really if you take out the time I'm unfocused, tired, taking a break or writing a comment on Youtube like right now, I'm not working that much. I need to improve my time management! When I'm working I should be 100% on, that way I'll finish faster and have time to relax, rest and do my hobby. All of those things will make me less burnt out while the same amount of work is getting done.

  23. Hi Mako! Two videos back(the video where you talked about how to stop watercolour paper from buckling) I commented saying that I wanted to use dry brushing to create a simple background because I didn't want to waste a lot of time creating an amazing, ''out of the crowd'', "never seen before" kind of backgrounds in one of my GCSE Art pages and you suggested saying that dry brushing would be better to use to create things like grass, so I could try out other cool techniques like salt and plastic wrap. I tried the salt technique following your video showing how you could use salt to create an interesting effect and I completely messed it up(and YES I tried it on another piece of paper, but I couldn't get the required results because I don't have any watercolour paper or mixed media paper). Now I completely regret this decision and the completely white background looked so much better and I absolutely don't know what I'm going to do with it. So I watched the video you made a while back on how to fix mistakes with watercolours. You said to use the 'magic eraser'. I want to take immediate action on removing the watercolour completely because everytime I open my sketchbook to work on something that page just gets me, it is so disgusting to look at, so I want to ask you if I can use a tissue and a damp brush and rub both of them at the same time in a circular motion in the same area( cause apparently you can do that according to Google, but I want a confirmation from a pro, so that's why I'm asking you.) It would be so amazing if could please help me out with this messy situation. I want to get this over with!😠😠😠😠 Love you Mako!πŸ’™πŸ’™

  24. I have noticed that when it comes to art and time management, it also depends if I have inspiration or right set of mind to be creative.. and sometimes when I make time for art I just do not feel inspired.. but then inspiration just comes while I am busy with something else.. 🀣

  25. Omg Mako! You are so adorable and sweet! I love how you speak to your audience with such sincerity β™₯
Look forward to more tutorials; encouragement needed on painting "loose" πŸ˜‰ Hi from Vancouver, Canada

  26. Hey mako. Iam keerthana. Hope you know me.Thanks for this video. Iam just a thirteen year old girl. So you know that I would get lots of homework and tests. I wouldn't have time to paint. After your great lecture, my situation became better. So thank you mako for such a beautiful message. I have one more problem that how to select the perfect colour while painting and how to paint without any mistake. Can you make a video based on this?.

  27. I like the "time theme" concept, Mako. I plan to look to my own task list to see if I can set a day to accomplish a group of similar things. Thank you for sharing!
