How to Draw an Ermine – Wiesel – Fur With Pencil

Hello my friends and welcome
to another Tuesday of tutorial. I am Leonardo Pereznieto and today
we are going to draw an ermine. We begin by sketching the
general shape with lose strokes. We sketch the eyes, the nose
and the ears. Having the general shape
we can adjust and trim some detail. Good! I´ll re-do the eyes because
they didn´t end up in the places I wanted. That´s better! And the left one, a little bit lower than what it was before. The list of materials
is in the information below the video. Very good! Now, I´ll do the head just a little bit thiner. Ermines are usually of
a reddish brown but when winter arrives, in snowy places,
it becomes totally white, except for the tip of the tail
which is black. We leave a bright reflection
on the eye, and the rest will be very dark. Like this… Now the other one,
and the nose. We will draw it as if
it were coming out of its den, in the snow and ice. With the corner of a screw driver,
or in fact you can use any thin and hard point, we indent in the paper what
will be the whiskers … and some other hairs. And when we shade with
the pencil, these little lines will come out white. I hope you can see them from there. We give a tone to the fur
because even if it is white, it will have some shading. Then we smudge with a
chamois or with a cotton cloth. This makes it look much softer. Over this we can do more detail with little lines. Ermines, even if they are very small,
they are ferocious and they can hunt animals which are much bigger than them,
such as chicken and hares. We place some graphite in
what will be the ice and snow and then, we smudge it with the chamois. If it ended up too light,
we can repeat this process. We also smudge the background
and then, we can pull some lights with the eraser. Very good! We give it the last touches
… and it´s ready! If you enjoyed it, please give it a LIKE, share it to your friends and subscribe
to Fine Art Tips. And I will see you on Tuesday 🙂 Subtitled by Grethel Trejo
