Hi, this is Joelle
Meijer. I will show you how to create a stained glass egg with pieces of coloured tissue paper.
To make a stained glass egg, first draw your pattern on black construction paper. With
an x-acto knife or small scissors, cut out the inside of the egg shape and then cut the
outside with big scissors. Take various colours of tissue paper and cut into pieces. Cut a
piece of waxed paper and place the egg shape that you have previously cut underneath the
waxed paper. The construction paper is visible through the wax paper and you will have a
guide to know how far to glue the pieces of tissue paper. Now, glue pieces of tissue paper
on the waxed paper with a paintbrush and some podge or diluted white glue. Make sure to
go beyond the limits so that it will be easier to assemble later. When you are satisfied
with your work, let dry. When the tissue paper is dry, glue the black egg with white glue
on the collage of tissue paper and when the white glue is dry, trim off any excess. Instead
of cutting the pieces of tissue paper, you can also make the same project by tearing
pieces of tissue paper. The result will be different but just as lovely! It’s your choice!
