Hey everyone, this is Mei Yu. Today’s video is very special. I’m dedicating this video to an amazing young woman. Her name is Ariel, and she’s currently battling stage four glioblastoma brain cancer. One of her good friends, Adam, reached out to me and asked if I could draw a special artwork for Ariel, because they liked some of my previous mermaid drawings in my videos. I thought it would be great because I wanted to do something for her using my art. Yesterday, I also got Ariel’s permission to share this drawing and video with you fans, and I hope Ariel’s story inspires you as much as it has inspired me. Here, I’m drawing something very special to her. Can you see what I’m drawing here? I’m drawing a tattoo of Ariel on her arm from one of her photos. When Adam told me about Ariel’s favorite being the mermaid, I decided to draw her like one. I thought it was perfect because of her name. I wanted to draw a very special Ariel for her. I learned that Ariel had a brain tumor six years ago. After it was removed and the treatments, she was tumor-free. Unfortunately, six years later, the tumors have grown back and mutated. She had three new brain tumors removed, but the cancer is too aggressive. Ariel has gone through thirteen rounds of radiation this time. Last week, she has started chemotherapy. This is her favorite saying. “Not today.” I love Ariel’s strength because she believes cancer is not getting her – not today. While I was designing this drawing, I tried to incorporate things that are important and dear to her. I also wanted this art piece to reflect her positive attitude. The plush wolf beside her was given to her by her grandpa, and I learned that she loves it dearly. Ariel has some tattoos, and I wanted to include the mermaid Ariel one on her shoulder. I also learned that Ariel is a mother of three children. She’s very strong fighting her cancer. I cannot imagine how much Ariel has gone through. I admire her fighting spirit, and I think her story is very inspirational. On Wednesday, I received these two photos of Ariel with my drawing, after her sister Kelsey presented it to her. I’m really happy to see Ariel happy in the photos. I also learned that Adam is Ariel’s brother-in-law. Her strong spirit is shining through. I truly think Ariel is such an inspiration. I’m glad that Ariel has such a great family and support around her. I can feel her amazing strength through her smile. After watching this video, I would love for you fans to send your best wishes, love, and support to Ariel through your comments. I’m gonna send her a link of this video for her to see, so let’s help put more smiles on her face and let Ariel know that we’re all here for her. Comment as often as you like, and thank you all so much for being here for each other and for being a part of this loving community. I love you all.
