Does It Really Do That? Pour N Paint

. POUR AND PAINT CLAIMS YOU CAN PAINT A ROOM IN 20 MINUTES. BUT DOES IT REALLY DO THAT? LYNNE HAYES-FREELAND PUT IT TO THE TEST AND JOINS US NOW WITH THE RESULTS. Reporter: YOU THINK, PAINTING COULD BE A MESSY AND CONSUMING JOB AND IT IS ALSO ONE OF THE EASIEST WAYS TO CHANGE THE LOOK OF A ROOM. SAVING TIME AND EFFORT CAN MAKE A BIG JOB SEEM SMALL IF A PRODUCT LIKE POUR AND PAINT WORKS. SPENDING HOURS WITH TAPE AND ROLLING OVER AND OVER JUST TO COVER A SMALL WALL? Reporter: PAINTING A ROOM IS THE CHORE MANY PEOPLE DREAD. SO WHEN THEY DECIDED TO PAINT THEIR DAUGHTER’S BEDROOM THE POUR AND PAINT SEEMED LIKE THE PERFECT SOLUTION. I HATE TO PAINT. FOR ANYTHING THAT WOULD MAKE IT EASIER IT SPARKED MY INTEREST. WE WERE HOPEFUL IT WAS GOING TO WORK AND MAKE IT QUICKER FOR US. Reporter: THE POUR AND PAINT SEEMED SIMPLE. WE OPEN THE BOX AND MAYBE TWO SIMPLE. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE QUALITY? WELL, IT SEEMS PRETTY CHEAP TO BE HONEST. Reporter: THERE WERE A FEW ISSUES. THE POUR CUP WAS CRACKED AND THERE WERE ROUGH EDGES. WET THE ROLLER. SQUEEZE OUT THE EXCESS WATER. MEASURE AND POUR IN THE PAINT. I THINK THAT IS — THAT WE CAN’T PUT THAT WHOLE AMOUNT IN. Reporter: NEXT STEP, GETTING THE ROLLER WORKING. THE DIRECTIONS SAY ROLL IT ON NEWSPAPER FOR AS LONG AS 2 MINUTES. IT DID TAKE A GOOD 2 MINUTES BEFORE THE PAINT WAS FLOWING BUT IT DID. IT ROLLS PRETTY EASILY. DOESN’T FEEL AS FLIMSY AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. Reporter: ONCE SHE HAD THE ROLLER READY TO GO, GREG TOOK OVER THE PAINTING. ROLLING ON SMOOTH. SMOOTHER THAN I WOULD HAVE IMAGINED. I AM NOT GETTING SPLATTERED WITH PAINT. YOU KNOW? LIKE YOU TYPICALLY DO WITH A ROLLER. IT WAS FAST. PUTTING ON THE FIRST COAT TOOK ABOUT 2 MINUTES. THE KIT ALSO COMES WITH AN EDGER AND ONE TO PAINTING CORNERS. POUR THE PAINT INSIDE AND THEN ROLL IT TILL IT BEGINS TO FLOW. Reporter: BUT THEN IT SPRANG A LEAK. THE BACK PART IS PULLING AWAY. COMING APART? YEAH. Reporter: DID WORK? I CAN’T GET CLOSER THAN THAT. Reporter: WHILE HE WAS WORKING ON THE EDGES WE BEGAN TO NOTICE STREAKING IN THE PAINT THAT WAS ALREADY APPLIED. THAT WAS AFTER ONLY ONE COAT. ORDINARY PAINT ROLLERS SPLATTER BUT NOT THE POUR AND PAINT ROLLER. Reporter: WE FOUND THAT TRUE. A BIG PLUS. IT DIDN’T, LIKE, SPLASH PAINT BACK IN MY PAINT. IT DEFINITELY HELD THE PAINT AND WENT ON SMOOTHLY. Reporter: ONCE HE SCREWED ON THE POLE HE LIKED THE FACT YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO ADD MORE PAINT. IT JUST KEPT GOING TILL THIS HAPPENED. Reporter: ACCIDENTS CAN AND DO HAPPEN BUT ONCE HE FINISHED THE SECOND COAT THE SAME PROBLEM EXISTED. THE FINISH WAS ANYTHING BUT SMOOTH. THE STREAKS. LEFT SO MANY VEHICLES TO. EVERY ROLL LEFT — STREAKS. EVERY ROLL LEFT STREAKS. Reporter: SOD AT THE ALL UP, THE PIECES WERE POORLY CONSTRUCTED BUT EASY TO USE. IT LEFT HER WALL FULL OF STREAKS SO DOES THE POUR AND PAINT REALLY DO THAT? NO. YES, YOU ARE ABLE TO POUR THE PAINT INTO IT BUT EVERYTHING ELSE THAT GOES WITH IT DID NOT WORK OUT WELL. NO. IT DOES NOT. MY JOURNEY CONTINUES TO LOOK FOR SOMETHING THAT DOES. Reporter: NOW THIS WAS AN INTERESTING PRODUCT BECAUSE IT IS $19.95 PLUS SHIPPING. IT DID PAINT THE WALLS BUT FOR THE FINISH, IT LEFT A LOT TO BE DESIRED. COOL IDEA. I LIKE THE CONCEPT. Reporter: REALLY MADE IT SIMPLE. IF YOU ARE A PAINTER, SEEMS TO MAKE SENSE BUT I LEFT THINKING IF YOU DIDN’T WANT IT TO LOOK SMOOTH IT PROBABLY WORKED.

  1. I'm a pro decorator and I can give you at least ten reasons why this pile of shyte is a complete waste of your hard earned money. Throw it in the bin, buy good quality rollers and brushes that you can wash out and keep. You won't regret it. PS, always prep well.

  2. Those marks on the wall from the roller is down the the way the guy applied pressure on the roller. This will happen with even the most expensive professional rollers if too much pressure is applied to one side and not evenly throughout the roller. This comes from a professional decorator. Definitely cant blame to roller for those running streaks. Doesnt matter which tool you use if the paint isn't applied evenly and correctly it will look shit regardless.

  3. If you feel the need to buy one of these; then you obviously can't paint walls using the proper tools. On that basis just get a decorator in to do the job properly.

  4. I nearly cried laughing when I saw this on TV, the guy climbing up the ladder to roll that small square patch on the wall. At first I thought it was a kind of funny advertisement. I thought they a never going to sell that rubbish, People are not that easily fooled. Time consuming, 💯 percent crap. This kind of false advertising should be and shut down. What a con.

  5. What was running was the excess water in the roller. As a bathroom remodeler, I paint a LOT. I Cannot imagine why you would have to wet the roller first. In essence, they are making you dilute the paint so it flows through the roller. Stupid! Junk product and not well thought out.

  6. I have this system and it's pretty awesome. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Wagner-9-in-Smart-Roller-with-Manual-Ratchet-Trigger-0530003/204151206?cm_mmc=Shopping%7CG%7CBase%7CD24%7CMulti%7CNA%7CPLA%7CAll_Paint_Smart%7c71700000048001153%7c58700004793621602%7c92700041080546416&gclid=Cj0KCQjwl6LoBRDqARIsABllMSZySdbLHcn3qBhnKtECmjCNTExukaTeEdR3l06XKFg2XOXzfLyXb2waAsN8EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

  7. What a pile of crap . Anyone who uses this stuff Deserves streaks and crap equipment . Lazy way to paint and obviously the roller isn’t fit for purpose . Awful bit of kit.

  8. Saw the Paintrunner Pro advertised on TV channel last week. Would not buy one now after seeing this and similar YouTube videos reporting poor results. I worked in Injection Moulding in Plastics for over 30yrs and would be embarrassed if the product went into my work bin looking like that. Poor quality control methods with a 'That will do' attitude. To be fair there was a 30 day money back guarantee if not satisfied, but you paid return postage so it made it economically senseless to go to the bother of cleaning the product up,repacking it and then taking it to the post office. I suspect these all end up in the refuse bin after a few weeks. Be very surprised if this product is for sale in eighteen months time.

  9. These people are morons, I used the paint runner pro to paint two ceilings yesterday, it couldn't have been any easier. If you're going to test a product get someone who has at least half a brain to test it.

  10. I have this system. It's hard to use you need a lot of strength in your arms as you have to press hard with it. Once filled it's heavy, and not that easy to apply as you have to press hard to get the paint to get through. My system is the blue original. But it's in a box in the shed.. I prefer a normal roller. Plus. Cleaning it out afterwards. Takes way longer 🇬🇧
