I thought it was something along those lines but i was in doubt cuz i wrote pretty much that for an essay, and my tutor was like, "yeah, i don't think you understand what Barthes' essay means." lol. Wimsatt & Beardsley's Intentional Fallacy, though i didn't read it, seemed to be for the text itself being the creator of its own meaning, but Death of the Author did seem to be more for the reader as the one who decides meaning.

  2. Short Answer: Its a concept that says you separate the person who wrote the story from what the story actually says. The reader/watcher actually says what the work is about. Example: If a farmer wrote a story on farming-the fact that the person is a farmer should be irrelevant and that the story could be open to interpretation. One person could say its pro-farming while another says its anti-farming and they'd both be right regardless of what the original author wanted to say.
